Parish Vision Statement

We, the Holy Cross Catholic Community, nourished by Christ through Scripture and Sacrament, are called to share our faith, knowing that our lives may be the only Gospel some people ever see.

We welcome Fr. Jorge Rodriguez as the new pastor for our home, here at Holy Cross.

Fr. Jorge will be leaving his position as Vice-Rector at the St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver.  He will continue to be a professor at the Seminary teaching a couple of classes to the seminarians as well as the permanent diaconate candidates.

Born in Merida, Yucatan of Mexico, Fr. Jorge's family still resides there.  Last month he return to celebrate his mother's 95th birthday.  He has 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

His early childhood education is credited to the Maryknoll Sisters and later, some credit to the Marianist Brothers.  When he finished High School, he joined the Legionnaires of Christ community to study and become a priest.

He was sent to Spain to study and then to Rome, Italy.  He even was sent to do Mission work for some time.  He returned to Rome to complete his studies and was ordained a priest in 1987.

Fr. Jorge has a Ph.D in Theology.  He has spent many years since ordination as a seminary professor in Rome and in Denver.  He also has spent some of those years as Dean of Theology or related positions.

Welcome Fr. Jorge!
